The 3D3 Wargaming league is a league for Warhammer 40K.

This will run very similar to most 40k leagues, but with a couple of small changes.

Entry is £5 per player per league, please contact the league administrator for payment details.

Getting regular games of 40K can be hard, but we don't want anyone to feel like they can't participate because they might miss a few weeks half way through. Don't think you'll be able to make next weeks game? Just don't submit a list or set yourself to inactive and you'll be left out of pairings for that week, and you can jump back in at any time!

BE AWARE! Players can drop in and out at any time, but it is unlikely you will be able to rank highly without playing all rounds.

The league is split up into divisions. As much as we can we will make sure each division has 6 players so all players will play all the other players in their league (plus 1 repeat) across the 6 week league. The top 2 players will be promoted to the next division up for the next league, and the bottom 2 players will be relegated to the division below. As the league grows, or if players don't return for later leagues there may be more shuffling / opportunities for further promotions to make sure we hit the 6 players per division as much as possible.

The rest is pretty simple.

Everything is run through this website, and you will have an account once you're signed up.

List submission for each round is by 5pm on the Sunday before. Results submission for each round is by 5pm on the following Sunday.

Games will run on a weekly schedule and every week on a Sunday evening pairings will appear in your dashboard.

You will then have a week to play your games, and submit results through this website. You will also have that same week to submit your list, again through this site, for the next round. If you don't submit a list you won't be paired.

Once a league is finished, we'll crown a champion and move onto the next League!

Results must be submitted before 5pm on the day the round finishes. Lists must be submitted by 5pm the day before the round starts. Reminder emails will usually be sent out to players who have not submitted on time (please add 3d3.bot@gmail.com to your safe senders list) but if you miss the deadline you will not be paired, or that match will not count.

If you submit the wrong list and don't find out until after list submission, sorry, you're out of luck. Intentional or otherwise you've still gained information that could influence your list so you're stuck with what you submitted.

If you submitted an illegal list, contact your league administrator who will make the minimum changes to your list to make it legal.

Pairings are always random, so you should not play the same player more than once. Later rounds may be adjusted to avoid the need for tie-breakers. If there is an odd number of players one player will get a BYE, each player should not get more than one BYE per league.

If you can't find a time to play your game, this means that you miss that round. DO NOT just put in a draw, or give someone a win because you can't make it. If you can't find a time both players can do, please contact the league administrator as early as possible to help arrange an alternative game / another solution. Results that are entered but not played may be removed (and potentially replaced with negative points depending on how bad of a day your league administrator is having).

All players of all skill levels are welcome. But, this is a competitive league. That doesn't mean if you don't think you're the best 40K player since that guy from the beatles you shouldn't join, but it does mean that you should expect to play against the best lists in the current meta. Don't expect to be taken seriously if you call someone a 'meta chaser' for bringing the good list. But do feel free to mock them if they lose anyway.

All players are expected to play by intent. Always communicate what you are doing and be willing to freely offer information. This does not mean you need to give up your gameplan, but if your opponent states for example that they are positioning to screen you out from getting to an objective next turn, but you have a 6" deep strike strat and something in reserve, you should freely offer this information. Players relying on gotchas to win will be mocked.

Don't cheat, I don't have the energy to allow for redemtpion.

There are no painting requirements for this league. However, it is expected that your opponent can tell what models represent what units on the battlefield. By default this is expected to be the official model, or similar enough that it's easy to tell. However, if your opponent is fine with you playing with pringle lids, this is fine. Just don't assume that they are.
